Day trip in Turku Finland

I’ve spent six months in Turku doing student exchange. I haven’t been since, but I am longing so hard to go back. What is so great about Turku? Well according to me everything. It might depend on the period in your life when a visit happens, but since I had so many guests, visiting me, I can guarantee to everyone: you will love it.
Turku belongs to the group of biggest cities in Finland. Being around 170km west from Helsinki, you can reach it by car in 2 hours or by public transport in around the same time. In my time there was even a flight of 25 minutes, thanks to those that decided against this.

The introduction to Finland happened already on the plane, when we received Salmiakki gummies, and that might be the only thing, I did not like about the country. But focus on the good, which is everything else, the busses running through the city were punctual to the second. Coming from a place where public transport is questionable, and living in a big city now, where the bus is the most unreliable transportation, this means a lot.
Ah forgot to mention, the best way to arrive to a day trip in Turku is by cruise from Stockholm and you can see so much.
